The apartment, which belonged to the owner’s late mother, featured vintage Vogue covers, a floor of pink Portuguese marble, and a color palette inspired by shades of pink. Mirta aimed to preserve the elegance and femininity of the space, resulting in a design that felt old-fashioned and vintage. She reimagined the entrance, living room, kitchen, and two bathrooms, incorporating warm coral tones, wooden paneling, Carrara marble, brass details, and rich burgundy millwork.
Throughout the remodeled apartment, Mirta maintained a consistent color scheme with various shades of pink, creating a cohesive and visually appealing space. The living room boasted vintage modular furniture in green oriental weave, reflecting the apartment’s blushing bohemian aesthetic. In the bedroom, Mirta retained the original parquet flooring and paired it with sage walls and a custom-designed wardrobe in green and raspberry tones. The primary bathroom became a relaxing dreamscape with soft pink walls, Portuguese marble flooring, and a lunar sink.
Mirta’s favorite space in the apartment was the kitchen, which featured glossy burgundy lacquered cabinetry, wooden paneling, and terra-cotta-colored walls. The kitchen served as a vibrant homage to the Mediterranean, showcasing a blend of dark and light, matte and polished elements. Overall, the apartment perfectly balanced old-world charm with modern elegance, reflecting the owner’s desire to preserve the past while embracing the present.
